Meet Our Animals

We don’t have photos of every hen (Yet – there’s just a LOT of them!) Here you can see what all animals live on our farm and get to know a little bit about them. Over time we will fill this page with photos, videos and more interested things about the animals. They all have names, and by the end of this they may even have a bio to go with their photos.  (For now, enjoy this glimpse into our farm.

Our Spoiled Laying Hens

We have over 25 laying hens of many breeds, including silkies, cinnamon queens, wyandottes, a smattering of barnyard mixes as well as a few rarer breeds, such as the ayam cemani. They all have their own unique personalities and lay eggs ranging from the size of a Reece’s egg all the way up to some massive 3 inch long double yolk eggs. (We don’t know why but one of our girls has been laying these jumbo jumbo double yolk eggs for a while!)

Nigerian Dwarf Goats

We started with two goats that came into our lives a bit unexpectedly when a friend called us because she needed these guys gone ASAP because they didn’t quite fit in with the herd dyname on her farm.

Tex and Ellie are quickly took to their new home. They don’t like to be pet yet, but they are very curious and love to watch while we do chores.

Ellie will hop on on the fence and call us to come and sit with them. 🙂

Our Spoiled Laying Hens

We have 2 show-quality giant lop rabbits and one Lion Head rabbit. They are pets, but we do have plans to spin yarn from some of their fur at a later date, as well as offer rabbit kits for sale once we get to know these guys a little better and raise a litter successfully. In the mean time, they are a lot of fun to watch as the run and play in the grass and run upstairs in their house when it rains. (They get so grumpy when they have to go inside 🤣)
